How things are hangin'

Today I finished my fourteenth day of work, holla! I am winding up the end of my first phase of training. In a few months I might be changing into another position which would mean a lot more training. I am really interested in this job. I find it interesting and stimulating. I'm really using my brain for the first time in a while. And I like the career paths that this might pave for me.

Basically, after someone applies for Disability I gather up information like medical records and an assortment of forms, in short, I Develop the case. Then it goes to an Examiner, which is what I hope to be doing in a few months.

It feels great to be working. It's been an adjustment for sure, but I feel almost normal again.

Quentin has been visiting Nana for the last 10 days. I get him back tomorrow and I can't wait. I always enjoy a parenting break but I miss him so much. I know he is having a blast.

Anyway, when he is back and I get a real rhythm going I plan to post more often and with pictures and stuff. Things are just warming up.

I went to Emporia last Friday. I met Larry there after I got off work. He went to John Lehman's memorial service earlier that day. That night Larry, I, John Henningsen, Chris Roady, Rachel Tompson, Heather Gowens Knight, and a few others hung out at Town Royal and Beer:30. I then proceeded to get rip roarin' drunk (a first in yeeeaaarrsss) that led to a terrible hangover (a nice reminder of why I don't do that anymore). It was awesome fun though to pretend to be young again.

Next week we'll go to Cori's Saturday and then Sunday I will meet the fabulous Vanessa in Emporia for dinner. It's nice to have a temporary life right now.
